Bali’s biggest and busiest city, Kuta, resembles many of its counterparts across the developing world.
Cramped store front shops selling goods emblazoned with the local beer, beaches, sights an sayings. There’s 5-star hotels pushed up against locally-owned shack-type-hotels for a few dollars a night. It’s both squalor and ritz; a millionaires paradise and a poor students haven.
East meets West, first world meets developing world. A place shifting so quickly it could transform into anything in the next decade. A city that’s begun to blossom.
