I’m a big advocator of going with the flow. Not in a lazy way, or as a surrender to my situation  and surroundings. In my opinion, going with the flow doesn’t mean giving up – it means having enough faith to lean in.

The cold, hard truth is that we don’t have much control over our lives. We might be able to control what we do, eat, and think each day – but we can’t control when external things change. When the paradigm shifts at work, friends and family move away, or we lose the people we love. Hell, we can’t even control what we feel, who we fall for, or the path our lives take as time goes on.

There’s a kind of peace in letting go of our sense of control and allowing life to take over. What’s meant to happen will happen, regardless of whether we’re happy about it or not. I prefer to be aware and accepting enough to enjoy my life instead of fighting a battle I can’t win.
