Venice Water Bus!

IMG_4627

Venice is an insanely cool place. It’s a group of islands connected by a slew of bridges and divided by wide breadths of water. I’m a true cancer and total water baby, so I fell in love with Venice from the second I stepped out of the train station. Thank you, God, (and the ancient Italians) for creating this beautiful place.

One of the coolest things about Venice is that, since you can’t get around to the other islands by car, you have to take a water bus, taxi or gondola. That’s right – a water bus. Venice even makes busses seem awesome.

We took the waterbus from our main island to St. Mark’s Square. For a cheap 7 euros, we got a ride to our destination and some lovely views along the way.

My clever little cousin even worked her way to the front and snagged some seats at the bow of the boat. The bus gets really crowded, and we were blissfully unaware as we soaked up the sun in the few plastic chair at the front. The rest of the riders were crowded into a hot, mostly standing-room only plastic box at the rear. If you ever take a water bus, snag a seat at the front!

Here’s a few shots from our kick-ass water bus adventure.

Happy travels,

Nikki
